Bookshelf Tour
Do you guys keep journals? I do have a journal for my morning quiet time routine, but in terms of just a diary-like journal, I always fail at keeping these. I got some notebooks for my birthday in January and kept journals through the Spring, but fell off the wagon.
The other day, however, I was reading through one of my journals and found where I had recorded my New Year’s resolutions and goal lists.
One of my goals was to “own a beautiful bookshelf”. Talk about seeing into the future!
At the time, I didn’t know that my family would buy a new house and I’d move into a room with lovely built-in cabinets. The day I moved all my things in, I spent about two hours pulling the cabinet doors off. All I had was a screw driver and a chair (#shortpeopleproblems) and I just went to town pulling the doors off their hinges, so I’d have some beautiful, exposed shelving.
Then came the problem of what the heck do I put on these shelves!? (Also, what do I do about the soreness of my arms after pulling those doors off…oye.)
I looked at Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration, but really I didn’t have to – we all have STUFF that needs a place. You know, those books you bought off Amazon that you have yet to read, your secret candy stash of Dove chocolates, a hand-written note the little girl you babysat gave you, etc., etc.
Today I’m sharing a bookshelf tour to show you my favorite little happy things that I have displayed, and hopefully I can give you some inspo if you’re trying to figure out how to decorate your shelves.
Let’s do this!
Books
You can see all the books I read and want to read on my Goodreads account. However, I do keep my favorites here on my bookshelf. A few of them are:
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffeneger
Once and For All by Sarah Dessen
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
The Wednesday Sisters by Meg Waite Clayton
Nail Polish
Decor
Jewelry
There you have it! Is there something super special on your bookshelf? I wanna know!
X,
Cristina
